Portland’s (Oregon) Tea Shops

16-Feb-2006
Sometime you find great food information in the strangest places….

In the Travel/Outdoors section of today’s Seattle Times there’s a great article about tea shops found in our southern neighbor Portland, Oregon.  It’s a great summary of shops and tea houses and makes me want to get in my car and make the drive south.  Right now!

Any suggestions for a special eating experience for 12-18 people who are coming from Seattle to Portland for a special occasion dinner? We heard about the Barnwood table in the Carlyle\’s restaurant\’s kitchen are are considering that… would appreciate any suggestions as I\’ve not spent time in Portland… thanks!

I wish I was better informed about what\’s what in Portland but I\’m not.  If I were you I\’d check out http://www.extramsg.com/.  Not only is this person really knowledgeable but the site has links to tons of Portland resources.  Good Luck!  And if you think about it come back and tell me about your experience.

You would be hard pressed to find  a better way to experience awesome food in a unique setting. I would definately encourage Carlye as your destination. I have been to two of the "barnwood" dinners, and both were very special evenings.
